Where the Vets Take Their Pets… As a surgery resident long ago, Dr. Franklin addressed my previous dog’s ACL tear with the Tightrope procedure, allowing her to remain a super active sidekick for years after. I’ve been excited to see he now has a clinic focused on minimally invasive approaches. I’ve referred relatives’ dogs to him, and now my own dog as well. My large goofball pit/beagle mix, Oliver, is doing GREAT so far post-op after his recent Tightrope procedure. At day 13, he’s lifting his good leg while peeing and walking almost normally.

Dr. Franklin is the best. He was super candid about the prognosis and options for our Golden’s elbow issues, and really empathized with my fears. Dr. Goodman is incredible and exceeded all of our expectations! Our 1 year old pup developed a limp after a fractured tibia which led us to Dr. Goodman. He answered all of our questions and thoroughly explained his findings and recommendations (we never felt pressured to do anything). His compassion helped put my mind at ease and Tahoe had a seamless knee surgery recovery! Not to mention Tahoe loves walking into the office and greeting her friends 🙂 Everyone we interacted with has been amazing. Kansas City Canine Orthopedics and Dr. Samuel Franklin were great with my fur baby. He had TPLO on his right knee and he is doing awesome. I was so impressed, especially with his incision, you could not even see it even right after the surgery it healed so nicely. He was very helpful and answers all of our questions.

Dr. Sam Franklin is a very talented compassionate Orthopedic Vet. My CC (mini Auzzie) had a severe double patella luxation last Dec and Dr. Franklin worked with me to diagnose and figure out a surgical plan for my baby. The surgery went very well and CC was back to walking after a few months. Now, 12mo later, she is running and being her playful self and we are about to start agility training. Thank you, Dr. Franklin!

My pup had a horrible limp when I took her to dr. Franklin. She was suffering from elbow dysplasia at 6 months and daily activities were painful for her. After speaking with dr Franklin he was honest about all of the possible outcomes. We are so fortunate that we were introduced to him early and Everest’s surgery was a complete success! She is now a normal dog able to run and play. I cannot recommend Canine orthopedics enough to anyone and everyone.

Nothing but great things to say about KC Canine Orthopedics! We have a 6 year old chocolate lab who is very active. For about six months our dog had a slight limp after lots of running, then one day while playing fetch she suddenly wouldn’t put any weight on her back leg. Brought her in and it turned out she had torn her cruciate and meniscus. Going through the consult with Dr. Franklin and Dr. Campbell they explained the injury and answered all our questions. Made us feel very confident about TPLO surgery and the road to recovery. They were able to schedule us immediately and surgery went great.

Staff did a great job explaining what to do post surgery and were always available for questions. Very shortly after surgery, our dog started wanting to use the leg so we were excited! We also took part in the research study which involved an additional visit with Dr Campbell and our dog loved her and coming in for those. Made us feel better with the additional check ins. Every week she would put more weight on the leg and walk better. We’re at 9 weeks post surgery now and she’s 95% back to her rambunctious self! Now it’s just working to build the leg muscles back up.

I would recommend them to any dog that is having leg problems or needs TPLO surgery. Definitely follow the recovery plan they lay out and your dog will be back to running around in no time!
